Garnet and Flowers

I bought beads off Amazon the other day. It is the first time I have done so and I only thought of it because a fellow Beader on Facebook said that is where she last purchased supplies. I ended up buying a 100 piece bead cap mix.

Mixed lot of bead caps – like sorting for a jigsaw puzzle

They came in all sizes and shapes so it took me about 45 minutes to get them sorted.

I made a few pair of earrings using them immediately. I pulled out a few favorite beads including garnet and some fun white and black swirly glass beads.

I had five of these little tulip shaped bead caps that I pondered over.

Flower bead cap – headpin added. Fuzzy image a bonus.

I woke up this morning thinking how much they look like these Lucite flower beads I already have. I purchased these sweet little beads months and months ago at The Hole Bead Shoppe.

The garnets from the earrings pile I made the night before kind of melded into the pile of tulip shaped bead caps and the next thing you now I had a color combo.

Garnet and a pretty sky blue.

Since I have been torturing myself all week by using headpins and lots of individual beads per head pin, I figured why not continue the wrist aching work.

Before – Head-pinning a flower

And after: Blue flowers on headpins. I only messed up a few of them.

I was not brave enough to do a full necklace. The bracelet alone took a few restringing attempts. The first attempt was an inch too long.  Since I was using my own wrist to measure I wanted it to be the perfect length.

The second attempt worked out great when I removed a few of the larger silver beads. I made sure to keep the small garnet nuggets to keep the garnet color spread out throughout.

I like it so much I will wear it for the next few days until someone buys it off my wrist. Contact me if you are interested in purchase.  The length of the piece is 7 inches, has a toggle closure and would sell for $42 with free US domestic shipping.

The final pattern – Garnet and Blue Flower bracelet.
